Blue Cheese Turkey Burgers
As you start to think about grilling this weekend for the holiday, you have to include these burgers! You can also adapt this recipe to cook inside a 12 slot muffin tin for easy meal prep. If it fits my macros, I add some additional blue cheese crumbles on top as well!
2.5lbs 93/7 ground turkey
1 whole egg
2 egg whites
3 oz blue cheese crumbles
1 c. quick oats
1 red onion
3 cloves garlic, minced
Salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, cayenne (if you want it spicy!)
Dice the red onion and jalapeño (watch your cuticles and eyes! I wear latex gloves) and sauté them in a skillet or nonstick pan until the onions are translucent.
Combine all remaining ingredients in a bowl and mix with your hands. Cause YAY! Hands are the best utensils ;)
Preheat the grill to 400* but not while you have raw poultry slime on your hands!
Form mixture into about 12 4” in diameter burger patties
Cook them about 5-10min each side.
To reheat, pop one of your burger patties in the microwave (drape a barely-damp paper towel over it) for one minute, turning once in the middle. ENJOY! :)
